May 19, 2020 – As Jacksonville, the state and nation begin to reopen, understanding how the pandemic situation changes over the next few weeks will be very important to the decisions Duval County Public Schools makes in opening schools in the fall.
In determining how to reopen, the voice of the community is essential. This is why the district has developed a survey.
Parents, guardians, students, employees and community members are invited to complete the survey and provide feedback on the multiple possibilities the district is considering for next school year..
Survey, which is open through May 29, is available here in Arabic, French, Spanish, Bosnia and Tagalog, as well as English.
Note that while the district has a planned opening for Aug. 10, it is premature to say how school will be conducted when students and teachers return in the fall.
As the district receives guidance from health authorities, thoughts from all stakeholder groups, and more information regarding how the pandemic responds to reopening of the community, it will be prepared to make and support the option that is both best for learning and best for the health of students, employees, and the community.
