July 22, 2021 – For over 6,400 Duval County Public Schools students, summer was spent immersed in fun and enriching standards-based learning and activities.
This is the Summer Rise Program —where time off from the normal school year doesn’t mean time off from learning, or fun.
The Team Duval Newsroom visited Summer Rise sites at three schools: Sheffield Elementary, Seabreeze Elementary, and Jefferson Davis Middle (soon to be Charger Academy).
Watch to see the program in action, and to hear why teachers say it’s giving students an advantage ahead of the new school year.
