Aug. 15, 2024 – Combatting citywide truancy is the focus of a new attendance campaign launched by the City of Jacksonville and Duval County Public Schools.
The new initiative, Show Up to Shine, brings together multiple entities including the school district, Read USA, and United Way of Northeast Florida. Leaders say they will use school-specific data to take a new, more comprehensive and effective approach to the issue.
