(Editor’s note – This story has been updated. The consolidation impact review meeting scheduled at Beauclerc has been rescheduled for Oct. 3, 2024 due to weather.)
Sept. 24, 2024 – Earlier this month district leadership discussed the proposal of consolidating six elementary schools as part of the Master Facilities Plan revision. This proposal includes the consolidation of Annie R. Morgan Elementary into Biltmore Elementary and Kings Trail Elementary into Beauclerc Elementary.
This week, community meetings and consolidation impact review meetings begin for the stakeholders of these schools. While the consolidation process is led by district leadership with school stakeholders, the meetings are open to the public and include a section for public comment.
Stakeholders representing Annie R. Morgan, Biltmore, Kings Trail, and Beauclerc will discuss the transition of students to the combined campuses and what that will look like. This process enables stakeholders to represent their communities to discuss academic programs, program continuity, uniforms, and more. Recommendations from the groups will be presented to the superintendent for review.
The consolidation meeting for Annie R. Morgan’s transition into Biltmore will be held Tuesday, Sept. 24 at Biltmore Elementary School and will start at 5:30 p.m.
The consolidation meeting for Kings Trail’s transition into Beauclerc will be held Thursday, Oct. 3 at Beauclerc Elementary School and will start at 5 p.m.
What families need to know:
- Students attending Biltmore and Beauclerc will not be affected by this change.
- Students attending Annie R. Morgan and Kings Trail are proposed to attend their new schools starting in August 2025, if approved.
- All four schools will operate as normal during the 2024-25 school year.
